Shelly, There is always the possibility that the wisdom tooth has to be extracted no matter how old you are. The wisdom teeth often have the tendency to be hard to keep clean and therefore may cause problems somewhere down the road. I wouldn't be so quick to assume the worst such as a tumor, or a cyst.
